It won’t be like this for long…

Nope…it won’t. This is the week of many lasts. Last week of living with my Dad and sister. Last week of work at Meade Hospital. Last week of Kid’s Club at church. Last week of regularly meeting my Grandma for lunch in Dodge every Wednesday. The last of so many everyday things that make up my life right now.Β  But along with all the lasts…will come many firsts and that I anticipate with great excitement!

So now with my move only 7 days, 11 hours, and 6 minutes away, I’m really not thinking about much else! Uh…just ask Dad and Serena! Whatever I may be doing…working, baking, jogging, talking, shopping, reading…my mind is still lost in the move. During the snow storm a while back (yah…when I was stuck in the house for like 3 days…), I packed up quite a bit of stuff that I knew I would be using before I move. But I still have all my clothes and such in my room that needs packing. So, I started on that this afternoon. I’m beginning to think we may have to rent a U-HAUL after all!!! YIKES! Briann might not be able to move in…I’m thinking I might need both rooms for all my stuff!! πŸ™‚

Let’s see, this past week has been a big blur but I’ll try to re-count what I’ve done and what I still need to do.Β  Monday…ummmm, I can’t remember…! Oh yah, I went over to my cousin’s house in Copeland…they recently moved and have done A LOT of remodeling. She has done a beautiful job with the house! Then my Grandma and I went to lunch at Eva’s Kitchen in Montezuma. Shortly after returning home, one of our neighbors called and needed a babysitter for the afternoon. I jumped at the opportunity because I hadn’t babysat for the two little guys for a LONG time! Ryan is 3 now (I’ve been babysitting him since he was 5 months) and Tanner is 1. They are sooo cute, full of energy, and kept me running. Ryan told me a lot of stories but I’m not sure I could tell you what they were about. πŸ™‚

I worked Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. The week had it’s busy days but by Saturday when I left, we were down to only four patients! YAY!!! I’m hoping this last week stays nice and quiet patient-wise because I’m sure that it won’t be that way with the staff. Since this is my last week, I’m pretty sure I’m in for some pranks and drama! I’m a little scared to go to work…! There have already been a few ‘wars’ going on…and it’s gonna reach a climax this week.Β  πŸ™‚ The next time I write on here, I’m sure I’ll have some good stories to tell!

Wednesday, I spent much of the day in Dodge…grocery shopping and running errands. Kid’s Club was in the evening again and it was absolutely beautiful outside so we kicked all the kids out to play after the lesson! πŸ™‚ Since this week is our final Club for the semester, we are having a cook-out and I hope the weather is just as nice again!

Thursday I was home all day I think. I’ve been checking into auto insurances online because I’ll have to change once I move. I baked some mint chocolate cupcakes for our celebration of Nurse’s Week at the hospital. They turned out well (they were pretty anyway!)…after I spent nearly all day on the frosting! Initially, I had planned just a cool whip frosting (made to look ‘minty’ with a few drops of green food coloring) but the cool whip just wasn’t stiff enough and looked like just a flat blob on the cupcake (I tried many different things and even got Serena’s expert baking advice)…so I resorted to the traditional buttercream frosting. I used the frosting decorator to create a ‘mountain’ of sorts on the cupcake then sprinkled Andies mint bits on top and drizzled with melted chocolate. Everyone at work loved them! I had fun making them…even if it took me all day to frost them!

So I think that pretty well sums up my week! This week I hope to get my car insurance officially switched over. I’m planning a couple get together’s with some friends before leaving next week too. Wednesday, I have a hair appointment for highlights and a trim and also a car appointment for an oil change. I have a few things to get on my shopping list also. And of course…I have to finish packing! But actually most of the rest of the packing is going to wait until this weekend.

I’m so ready for this new chapter in my life. But saying goodbye here is not going to be easy. πŸ˜₯

    Janessa said,

Since you are soon to be an “Okie”, here are a few interesting tidbits about OK.

OK has more Native Americans than any other state.

OK has more tornados per square mile than any other state. The May 3, 1999 tornado was the largest tornado ever recorded on earth. Wind speeds in Moore, a suburb of Okc, registered wind speeds of 318 mph, the strongest wind speeds ever recorded.

So, you are moving to “tornado alley” but it is still a good place to live.
